I started this blog as a place to put my own recipes for reference as I began to need to navigate a new way of eating. It was easier to have all my recipes in one place than scattered on pieces of paper around the apartment. :)
You can thank Shirley (my mom) for my skills. When I was a little girl she cooked 3 meals a day for a family of six. It was to be expected that she'd pull at least one of us in the kitchen to help. Back then it was a pain in the butt but now, I'm so grateful for it.
I recently found out that my body can not tolerate gluten or dairy. So feel free to add it in if you're able to digest it but, for me, it's a no-go!
Yes. I'm an advocate for intuitive eating. I am 100% aware that my body does not love gluten or dairy. And, in that same breath, life happens. Like the time I was greeted with cake & ice cream as I walked in the door to meet my boyfriends family. Or when I truly just want a cheeseburger. But more times than not, I keep the gluten & dairy to a minimum & only in absolutely worth it moments.
I'm a foodie at heart. It doesn't take much to spark a fire with me. But, most of my inspiration comes from meals I've enjoy throughout my life up until my dietary needs changed. So I just remix my favorites into meals I can eat!
